When you are on a skinny rabbit budget, one of the problems is how are you going to get FREE traffic? Well, writing and submitting articles is about as good as it gets. Step one: Write and submit one article every 1-3 days for each blog or web site you're promoting. I realize that may sound like a lot of articles. But with practice, you will get faster at it. There's a trade off between time and quality. You don't want to spend one month writing the perfect article. Nor do you want to write junk that no one would want to put on their web site. What are you going to write about?

There are many writers who are utilizing article distribution services to get articles published in ezines and newsletters and on websites. These articles always have a link back to the website of the writer in the article’s Resource Box --- the About the Author information which typically follows an article. This has always been one of the best methods a webmaster could use to generate web traffic to his or her site. THE ECONOMIC VALUE OF DISTRIBUTING ARTICLES

QUESTION: Do you feel like giving me a reason for rejecting my article, considering all the other major article sites have published my article? ANSWER: There are a dozen of reasons why I could have chosen not to publish your article. Without knowing which of your articles I rejected, it is a hard call to make from memory. I own and manage more than 150 article distribution groups. I own and manager seven websites that are either article directories or websites that print reprint articles. I own and manage one article distribution service. Soon to be two services.

In an ideal world, all article management software would be easy-to-use for the webmaster. Also in an ideal world, the submission process would be fast and easy for the writer. But, this is not an ideal world. In today's article hungry marketplace, there are literally hundreds of websites where you can submit your articles. Three Types of Article Directories

Every now and again, people come to my site and complain about the high price of ghostwriting. Then they run off to Elance to hire a writer for $5, $10 or $15 an article. Sometimes they try to stand me down and push my prices down to that of another ghost writer. I don't play along. My ghostwriting prices are as low as they are going to go. I understand that a business person must try to keep their costs down, but there is another side to this.

A resource box is the few lines of text found at the bottom of most topical articles one might read on the Internet. And savvy article marketing experts know that the resource box, albeit small, is a prime piece of online real estate for attracting qualified website traffic. In fact, a great article writer will compose the entire body of an article for the sole purpose of retaining the reader's interest until she reaches and reads the tiny resource box at the end.

A recent debate started me thinking about how some marketing strategies can be right for one Web site, but wrong for another -- depending on the site’s purpose and the underlying reasoning behind the action. If an action doesn’t directly and logically plug into site goals, then there are likely more profitable ways to spend that time and effort. Publishing third-party articles on a Web site is one of those marketing strategies that can be right for one site, yet wrong for another.

Even though I started one of the first services to submit articles to article banks or article directories on the web, I've recently converted! While providing this service and submitting articles this way was a great way to bring qualified traffic to your web site years ago, it can be an extremely time consuming chore. Also, article banks change their submission pages, go out of business or are added so often. That's a lot of work to keep up with, I know, it took me close to 6 days per year to keep my list of 300+ sites updated. And at least I was making money off the service I provided my clients, most people are doing all that work for themselves!

Headline or Article Title: Great Headlines are Keyword-Dense and Compelling! Picking up where your headline left off, start with an opening paragraph that introduces your topic and pulls the reader in. For best search engine optimization, your copy should be keyword rich and tightly focused. It should also be written in a punchy, concise manner to keep your reader interested. Don’t overwrite - in article marketing, less is usually more. Most publishers are looking for something in the 300-600 word range, although anywhere from 250 -1500 words is considered acceptable. For comparison, this article clocks in at just under 600 words (not counting my real resource box).

One of the biggest irritations for the busy Article Marketer is the difference between the way an article looks in MS Word or other writing software and how it looks when submitted. Sometimes, word processing programs will generate code-based characters that can't be read by online text editors. Or, you may be using formatting such as bullet points and bolded headings that simply get lost in translation when you copy your text into the online editing space.
At the end of each Article Marketing submission is a bit of author information and marketing copy known as the resource box or bio box. This is the key to turning the potential energy of interest you've created in your article into the kinetic energy of sales, name recognition or website traffic - whatever you're engaging in article marketing to achieve. There are three main components of a resource box: Author name and brief professional information. If that is true, then how can I have my article on my website and in a directory, how can I do modern day side door pages like you and Tom Antion talked about on the teleseminar tonite, and how can I post my article on more than one directory? Dulicate content, while important, is a much over blown issue. It is just one of many things Google uses when it is ranking a page or a site in the search engines. At the same time, it is so easy to avoid that you might as well handle it in order not have to worry about it.

Many people say that they get ideas and can be quite creative while writing. In fact when you use your fingers actually it activates certain places in your brain and that ads in the ability to think. But did you know that if you combine your sense of touch while writing with speech you can increase your creativity, reasoning and thinking? How can you accomplish this you ask? Well, you can also think out loud by talking to a mirror or while writing on to paper or typing on a keyboard? How so you ask? Recently I started a new trick to increase my creativity and I use a digital recorder and I make a speech in the mirror and then I talk to myself as if I'm talking to a group of people about a certain subject and I let the digital recorder run and then I plug it into my laptop and I put it into a Word file.

Is Article Marketing a Flat line Proposition?

Some very high-prolific writers have been discussing if article marketing is a flat line proposition? In other words it does not really matter if your articles are informational, high-quality, well-written or of great length; they all do about the same with regards to the number of article views they get on various online article submission sites. Thus the question has been asked; Is Article Marketing a Flat line Proposition? If this is true then it would also stand to reason that there are really no real loyal readers being generated. Of course this should not be too concerning if you are an online article marketer, because your goal should be to attract unique targeted traffic. As a prolific online article amateur author I was asked if I believed that article marketing is a flat-line proposition?

Do Online Article Submission Sites Attract Sploggers to Your Website?

One of the biggest problems for Bloggers, Forums or websites with guest books is the Sploggers. Sploggers are those who post worthless ads with lots of links to online sales sites for things like Viagra. These Sploggers look for well-trafficked websites and they often use online article submission websites full of links from online article marketers in their bylines to their websites. Once a Splogger gets onto your website they can wreak havoc and ruin it. If you have to continually monitor those sites then it takes up all your time. If you make it tough for them by adding in security features then that makes it hard for your customers and regular clientele ruining your interactive-ness. Additionally, the Sploggers may retaliate by trying to hack your site or increase their splogging using changes in tactics. How do I know? Well, I have had this occur and I have discussed this with other article marketers.

Do article marketers have to deal with the law of diminishing returns if they are prolific online article writers? For instance, if an article writer writes many articles on the same subject eventually he comes to a place where he is competing against his own articles in the search engine rather than his competition. Once he writes enough articles on the subject to rank well in the search engines on the various keywords and topics to achieve the targeted traffic he wants for his web site, then does it truly make sense for him to keep writing articles only to compete against the articles he has already written?

Should Online Article Directory Sites Offer a Subscription Based CD-ROM?

Many online article directory sites offer syndicated articles to web sites and Ezines and at the same time article directory sites allow Internet surfers to come and view the articles and read them. If online article directory sites actually skim and or read each article before they allow it to be approved into their directory then this could help them in many more ways also. Obviously when these online article directory sites do this they are able to pick out the best articles. It takes a lot of manpower to go through all the articles that are submitted to very large online article directory sites and it makes sense that the top articles should be compiled into a special additional category and perhaps made available by subscription on a CD-ROM. If you will consider that nonprofit groups like The Futurist Society often read hundreds and hundreds of books and then recommend, which books in each category are of value to their members then you can see the value of something similarly done within online article directory site.

Does online article marketing work? Is it worth writing hundreds of articles in order to attract targeted traffic to your online business? Should you spend the time to write articles and put them online at an online article directory web site? If you put a byline underneath the article will customers click on it that are interested in what you sell and come to your web site? Will these customers once they come to your web site by your products or services? Does online article marketing really work? Well, I feel I am qualified now to present the case for online article marketing and recommend why you should participate in online article marketing if you have a web site which sells your products or services. Even if you are not selling anything I still recommend online article marketing to drive traffic to your nonprofit cause, political web site or to help present your case for a change for humanity, society or government.

Anyone who is ever run a 10K knows that it is not easy and even those runners who are exceptionally great, they still do not consider it an easy race. In fact they only run it faster and harder and they still feel every single step along the way. One thing I learned from running the 10,000 m or 10K is that it is easy at the start and there are lots of people all around you and you feel really good. As you get out a couple of miles the number of people around you thins out. Sometimes there may only be a handful of people around you and then as you get to the 3-mile point or about half way you notice that their only two or three people around you and you keep going. Then you reach the 4-mile marker and what once seemed easy is no longer easy at all.

Sometimes it's really difficult just to sit down 'cold' and write an article. But procrastinating makes no difference, because when you eventually return to it, that 'block' is still there. Here's a few helpful pointers ... 1. Remove your limits Reduce your subject to a single core word and then brainstorm around it. For example, if you're trying to write about "Study Skills", expand your thinking to "School". Now jot down everything that comes to mind when you think about School, and when you run out of ideas start asking yourself open questions around the subject and noting your answers. Examples: Assume you are wanting to write about "how to improve your job prospects"What did I do in my first job?Why did I enjoy it/hate it? When did I realize that it was time to change? This will help you get back into the mindset of someone struggling with job issues of all kinds and you'll start to get a feel for their concerns and worries. 2. Restore your focus

Article marketing and content syndication is rapidly becoming a necessary tactic in creating good theme related links to your website. Articles allow you to not only appear as a professional in your field or niche to an audience who are generally very interested in the topic, but they also help build high quality back links from content filled pages. There are many article sites which allow you to publish material where others are searching for content for their own websites. The users will reprint or republish your articles on other sites while keeping any hyperlinks contained within the article or any author by lines in tact which works for you at the same time as fulfilling a need of site owners who are not able to come up with their own content.

Write Articles To Presell

If you own an online business - any online business, and you're not preselling that business, you're leaving a ton of money on the table. What's preselling? Preselling is the art of warming up potential prospects, and putting them in a buying frame of mind before you actually send them to your website. Ken Evoy of "SiteSell" fame popularized the term "presell" and introduced it to Internet Marketing. The best way to presell, in my opinion, is to give your prospect something of value. And online, there's nothing more valuable than "FREE" content. I'm sure you've heard the expression, "Content is King." Well, I can tell you from first-hand experience, this is absolutely true. However, before you can be successful at Internet Marketing, you first have to know and understand your market. For example, do you know why most people use the Internet?

We all know the value of writing articles for promoting your website or online store. However, writing articles to promote your old-fashioned, traditional brick and mortar business has been around forever. Contact your local newspapers, and chances are, depending on what business you are in, they may be interested in giving you your own column. Most small or medium-sized media markets will have at least one daily serving the communities and probably at least one weekly newspaper. Offer to supply a weekly or even a monthly column for free. They are always looking for editorial content and "free" is always attractive. Be careful about a daily commitment, this can get overly demanding in a hurry.
