Dale King Interviews Judy Cullins
Dale King: Today, I'm interviewing author, Book and Internet Marketing Coach, Judy Cullins. Hello Judy, how are you?
Judy Cullins: Well, Dale, I live in sunny San Diego. Have a wonderful, active life here, and love my book and internet marketing coaching work.
Dale King: Judy, tell our readers how you got started marketing on the Internet.
Judy Cullins: Five years ago. I knew nothing about the net. I hired a high school techie who showed me a lot of the ropes. Five years ago, I chose a natural way to market by writing and submitting articles to the ezines and web sites. From 10 articles, my new web site sales were $200, then $1160, then 2200 at eight months. The following years of 2005 and 2005 brought me close to six figures for the year. I still use this #one method of marketing, wrote books on it and give telecoaching on it. Today I get 5000 targeted visitors a day at my site. www.bookcoaching.com.
Dale King: Some Internet marketing experts advise newbies to steer clear of Internet marketing, because it's too competitive. Do you agree with that assessment?
Judy Cullins: For me, there may be competition, but that doesn't bother me. If a person really markets their business, and the way I do it only takes 5-7 hours a week, plus an assistant's 30 minutes a day to submit the articles, then he or she will make plenty of money on the internet. I like "advanced article marketing" because it's still free and is great for newbies.
Dale King: How is Internet marketing different now, as opposed to when you first got started online?
Judy Cullins: When I started, we subscribed to business ezines, then submitted articles to them. Too many rules and I've left this kind of article promotion to submit directly to the web sites. I show others how in the book "How to Submit to Article Directories and Web Sites-with 100URLs" that saves people 60 hours of hunting for appropriate sites to submit to. Now, what did work then, doesn't work well now. I don't even pursue link exchanges today. As a teacher, I present teleclasses and tele-coaching to help others achieve their business dreams. These teleclesses have showcased me as the article marketing and book writing and marketing expert.
Dale King: How important has goal-setting been to your overall success?
Judy Cullins: A goal setter all my life, I visualize what I want first. Seems I usually fufill these goals too. I work every day on 3 High Level Activities that usually include internet marketing.
Dale King: How important has reading been to your overall success?
Judy Cullins: A speedreader, I taught speedreading for 20 years too. Reading fast with a system helps you retain important information. Then, you can easily transform it into your new book or marketing piece such as a sales letter for each product or service you sell.
Dale King: If you could recommend one book that all Internet marketers should read, what would it be?
Judy Cullins: Since I've written 5 books on this topic, I'd recommend them. One reason, I've walked the talk for 5 years for the internet, and 22 years as a bookcoach. Another is my books are c. 2006. Each year I update them because what worked last year doesn't this year. For some of these your readers can go to this link or visit my site to see them all. Ihave 11 books out this year on internet marketing and book writing. http://bookcoaching.com/advancedarticleprogram.shtml
Dale King: In your opinion, what technology has changed Internet marketing the most over the last 5 years?
Judy Cullins: I'm kind of a non-techie, but what I'm doing now with my business is automating everything. The merchant account, the ezines sent automatically by autoresponder, and of course, the high speed internet now helps us reach more people faster.
Dale King: What new technology do you see changing Internet marketing over the next 5 years?
Judy Cullins: This is a tough question for me to address. I just know that we business people on the net have to keep flexible and make changes as changes come.
Dale King: What person has influenced you the most in your lifetime, and how?
Judy Cullins: Early on my father influenced me. He gave me no guilt, let me have many outdoor adventures along with travel to appreciate myself and my future in this wonderful place we live in. My father was an entrepreneur and I followed in those footsteps and love my business today. Another big influence is the wisdom of Buddah--compassion for all--ones more like me than different.
Dale King: If you could give my readers one piece of advice, what would it be?
Judy Cullins: After taking a huge millionaire markeitng seminar in LA last week, I'd advise your readers to pay for a good mentor and save themselves alot of mistakes in time and money. I sure appreciate the coaches who led me where I am today.
Dale King: Thank you very much Judy. I appreciate you taking the time to do this interview.
Judy Cullins: It's my pleasure to be of help to people wanting a successful business. The internet is certainly the way.
