Dale King Interviews Dr. Joe Vitale
Dale King: Today, I'm interviewing Internet Marketing
expert, author and copywriting guru, Dr. Joe Vitale. Hello
Dr. Vitale, how are you?
Dr. Joe Vitale: I just lost a pet, that I've had for twenty years, so I'm mourning, but else all is well.
Dale King: I'm so sorry to hear that, Dr. Vitale. My condolences. I recently saw you on "Larry King Live." How did that interview come about?
Dr. Joe Vitale: They called me up and asked me to do their show.
Dale King: Dr. Vitale, tell our readers how and when you got started marketing on the Internet.
Dr. Joe Vitale: I was one of the first to go online, back in the early 1990s. I was a skeptic. I didn't believe you could make any money online. I thought it was all a joke. But the more I poked around online and participated in forums, the more I got business. I quickly learned you could make money online oif you followed the new rules. And when I came out
with my first ebook, I was amazed at all the sales.
Dale King: Some Internet Marketing experts advise newbies to steer clear of certains areas of Internet Marketing, like selling e-books on how to make money, advertising services, SEO services, copywriting, etc., because those areas are too competitive. Do you agree with that assessment?
Dr. Joe Vitale: I think you should do what you love. If you love golf, create a product based on your experience and for that market. You can strike it rich by catering to a niche. If it's an area you personally love, it'll be all the more thrilling for you to do it and make money at it.
Dale King: How is Internet Marketing different now, as opposedto when you first got started online?
Dr. Joe Vitale: It's more multi-media now. You can have audio, graphics, video, and who knows what's next. In the early days it was text only.
Dale King: How important has goal-setting been to your overallsuccess?
Dr. Joe Vitale: Goals can motivate you to take action but I find it far more important to act on inspiration and let that rush of energy help you achieve the end results. I don't focus on goals so much as I do on being in love with what I do.
Dale King: How important has reading been to your overall success?
Dr. Joe Vitale: It's essential. You would never go to an attorney who didn't keep up with the law or to a doctor who didn't keep up with medical news. Why in the world would you assume you know it all and stop reading? I'm ALWAYS reading, learning, growing, stretching.
Dale King: If you could recommend one book that all Internetmarketers
should read, what would it be?
Dr. Joe Vitale: Probably "The E-Code". I'd also get Mark Joyner's "The Irresitibe Offer."
Dale King: In your opinion, what technology has changed InternetMarketing the most over the last 5 years? Dr. Joe Vitale: Multi-media. Audio and video, being able to have your own radio or TV station, these are all amazing breakthroughs. They give the little person the power of a network TV show.
Dale King: What new technology do you see changing InternetMarketing over the next 5 years?
Dr. Joe Vitale: One thing I've learned is that I can't predict the future. Somebody working in their garage right now will probably blow us away with something we can't even imagine right at this moment. I'm eager to see what it will be.
Dale King: What person has influenced you the most in your lifetime, and how?
Dr. Joe Vitale: There's more thanone. Right off the top of my head, I'd say P.T. Barnum. I wrote a book about him: "There's a Customer Born Every Minute." He was a genius.
Dale King: If you could give my readers one piece of advice, what would it be?
Dr. Joe Vitale: Do what you love.
Dale King: Thank you very much, Dr. Vitale. I appreciate you taking thetime to do this interview.
Dr. Joe Vitale: Godspeed to you and your readers.
