Brad and Debra Schepp

We've been buying and selling on eBay since 1999 and have a 100 percent positive feedback record. We admit that we're proud that eBay PowerSeller Secrets is among the top-selling eBay books on both Amazon and http://barnesandnoble.com.
Marketing and PR people like us because we like talking about our work even more than producing it. So we actively promote our books on and off the Internet. A big PR firm in NYC gave us some pretty impressive media training, so Deb at least is comfortable in front of the TV (giving interviews, not just watching it). Even with the fancy training, Brad's speed is more radio and print. Deb's traveled for author's tours (while Brad cowered at home in an agorophobic stupor), and Deb's given many seminars about selling on eBay, (while Brad looked on in appreciation because he didn't have to do it). Do you see any patterns here?
If after reading this you'd STILL like to contact us for more information about any of our books, or to discuss new projects, we're at: brads87901@aol.com http://bradanddeb.com/

eBay Express Progress Report: Still at the Station?
eBay Express Progress Report: Still at the Station?By Brad and Debra Schepp AuctionBytes.com November 01, 2006 | | We admit it. Back in January we jumped aboard the newly announced eBay Express (EE) train along with many of eBay's top sellers, convinced that eBay was really on to something. EE would fill the gap in eBay's business expertly, we reasoned, in that it would provide the marketplace exactly what was missing from the eBay shopping experience. EE would provide a place to buy new items, right away, from trusted eBay sellers. Buyers would be able to buy from multiple sellers, loading up their purchases into a shopping cart, just as they could do on many other ecommerce sites. | Click here to read the entire article.

eBay PowerSeller Sells Ruby Ring with Cough Drop as Stone?
|
Some eBay buyers will try anything to rip-off a seller. Read on and see what we mean. A PowerSeller who sells jewelry told us some incredible stories when we were interviewing for our just-published book, eBay PowerSeller Million Dollar Ideas (McGraw-Hill). One of his buyers ordered an expensive ruby ring. He returned it however, because he was dissatisfied with it. When they got the ring back our PowerSeller friends examined the ruby because it looked unusual. Turns out the buyer had replaced it with a Luden’s cough drop!

Schtick Sells on eBay
Rodney Dangerfield may not have gotten much respect but he sure made a lot of money. That's partly because he had his own "schtick" What's "schtick" you ask? Think of it as a distinct accent, or unusual birthmark. In other words, it's anything that makes you stand out from the crowd.
For our books eBay PowerSeller Secrets and eBay PowerSeller Million Dollar Ideas we spoke with hundreds of PowerSellers. Of course they knew a lot about how to find good products to sell, managing their auctions, shipping cost effectively, and a lot more. But many of the best also knew how to stand out!
As an eBay seller that's so important because you have so many competitors. Add to that the fact that eBay buyers don't have all that much loyalty--they're after the best deal from a seller who they can trust. Period.
So how do you stand out? Show some personality! Be creative! We talk about this in

The Nasty Little Secret About Making Money on eBay
For our books eBay PowerSeller Secrets and eBay PowerSeller Million Dollar Ideas my wife Deb and I interviewed hundreds of PowerSellers. Male, female, young, old, couples, single folks--they ran the gamut. Some make the PowerSeller minimum of $1000 per month, while others gross millions. Despite their differences they all had one thing in common, and this is the thing that few other eBay experts will tell you.
They work HARD. eBay is not a get-rich-quick scheme. Building an eBay business takes commitment and time. PowerSellers are some of the hardest working people we know. It drives them batty when scam artists sell CDs, books, ebooks, videos, etc. that promise to disclose the hidden secrets of making money on eBay. Other scam artists promise to provide a list of wholesalers or dropshippers that will provide great products at great prices, so you can make lots of money. Sorry, but it's not that simple.
But wait. This is not to say there aren't tricks of the trade, and some great ideas that

eBay PowerSellers Jump on Google Base
AuctionBytes.com December 06, 2005
But whether they'll score or not as a result remains anyone's guess. You know already that Google Base (http://base.google.com) is Google's new database, where you can upload just about any kind of information you would like - for free. The default categories you can specify include recipes, wanted ads, reviews, and products. Writing each listing and uploading it takes only minutes - much faster than your average eBay auction. And if you have a lot of listings, Google Base has a bulk listing capability. Of course, third party auction software providers are more than happy to handle such listings for their customers, if they choose to go that route.

All About Your eBay About Me Page
AuctionInsights Newsletter http://www.auctioninsights.com April 21, 2005
There's probably nothing more important to your success on eBay -- as a buyer, or seller--than the image you project. Buyers want sellers to know they're trustworthy, and fair-minded. For sellers, the image they project can mean the difference between being a PowerSeller or struggling seller. Because About Me pages are especially important to sellers, we'll focus on them here.
